It seems that the Federal Government has decided to put a new national cultural policy back on the Agenda. And why not? Its not as if they have that much to do at the moment with carbon trading, the National Broadband Network, a revised mining tax, an upcoming budget and the pressures of minority Government to deal with.

Simon Crean is the current Minister for the Arts and at a speech to NIDA graduates yesterday (1st May 2011), he indicated that the submissions that Peter Garrett called for during his term in the role are being dusted off for consideration. Mr Crean declared that a new policy is coming.
