Shaun Parker & Company

Technical Production Manager

Shaun Parker & Company is looking for a Technical Production Manager for the late-stage development of a major new work.

WORK WITH US – Technical Production Manager

Shaun Parker & Company is seeking an experienced and creative Sydney-based Technical Production Manager to join the company for six weeks across December 2026 and January 2027 for the late-stage development of a major new work – BUBBLE. The Technical Production Manager will lead all technical aspects for the upcoming creative development and be the central point of communication for the technical creative team.

BUBBLE is a dance and visual arts collaboration between Director/Choreographer Shaun Parker and bubble performance artist Su Chung Tai. Led by live Steadicam footage, our narrative follows the journey of a single bubble through to an epic climax in an exquisitely choreographed single-shot, alongside seven performers, transforming the stage into a spectacular live cinema.  BUBBLE will feature a vast array of elemental devices including mist, laser, smoke, and live bubble art.

The ideal candidate will have at least five years of technical and production management experience, and will ideally have worked on self-devised work and final-stage developments for other projects in the past. Reporting directly to the Artistic Director and Producer, the Technical Production Manager oversees the day-to-day technical operation of the development and will assist the key technical creatives, including the Video Design, LX and Sound Design areas, in the development, realisation, and implementation of their work.

  • Ensure the technical execution of the Artistic Director’s creative vision in tandem with the Lighting Designer, Video Designer, and Sound Designer.
  • Maintain a safe workspace in all production departments.
  • Oversee and work respectfully with all creatives and crew.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in technical theatre or equivalent work experience.
  • High degree of working knowledge using ETC lighting controls and QLab.
  • High level experience implementing and operating AV elements, especially live video projection.
  • Able to implement and execute common theatrical practices and procedures.
  • Successful experience leading and supervising technical crews.
  • Valid NSW Driver’s License.
