Playwriting’s new peak body announces name and leadership team

Formed from the merger of Playwriting Australia and Australian Plays, Australian Plays Transform has announced details of its Board of Directors and Executive Producer/CEO.

Australian Plays Transform (APT) is a new national organisation dedicated to the development, publication, production and promotion of Australian playwriting.

Formed from the merger of development body Playwriting Australia and the Tasmanian-based publishing and licensing organisation Australian Plays, APT aims to support Australian playwriting at every stage, from script development through to production, publication and licensing.

Richard Watts is ArtsHub's National Performing Arts Editor; he also presents the weekly program SmartArts on Three Triple R FM, and serves as the Chair of La Mama Theatre's volunteer Committee of Management. Richard is a life member of the Melbourne Queer Film Festival, and was awarded the status of Melbourne Fringe Living Legend in 2017. In 2020 he was awarded the Sidney Myer Performing Arts Awards' Facilitator's Prize.
