Emerging Writers’ Festival launches digital program

The Emerging Writers’ Festival is bringing its complete program online. ArtsHub spoke with EWF’s Artistic Director Ruby-Rose Pivet-Marsh about some of her program highlights.

Nurturing young writers and celebrating ideas from diverse new voices, the Emerging Writers’ Festival’s (EWF) 2020 program has been moved entirely online in response to COVID-19. Even the program launch was digital this year, hosted online via the Wheeler Centre.

The festival’s eight-day program runs from 16-23 June and features performances, professional development opportunities and digital programming. From the National Writers’ Conference to in-depth explorations of class, race, and gender via a choose your own adventure game on Twitter, this year’s EWF promises to magnify important dialogues.
