A massive celebration of contemporary dance

This year’s Dance Massive celebrates collaborations and venue-lead productions.

<p>Dance Massive is a biennial celebration of the best in Australian contemporary dance. Drawing together a consortium of Melbourne-based venues – in association with Ausdance Victoria – the festival presents work that isn’t picked by an artistic director, but instead developed with already established venue/audience relationships in mind.

The result is a hugely popular festival, especially when you consider that its modus operandi is based around just one art form. The 2011 festival attracted over 10,000 people.
