Paul Yore pulled from Sydney Contemporary

Sydney Contemporary has announced, just hours before its VIP preview, Paul Yore's installation will not show.

The decision to remove Yore’s installation was made after a team of three barristers was called to go through the Sydney Contemporary fair yesterday.

ArtsHub has learned of the removal of Yore’s work, due to fears that it could contravene the law. While the installation cannot be casually viewed by passers-by at the fair, Yore’s work was to form the backdrop to Talks Contemporary, a program of talks for first-time collectors to chewy topics for veterans. Located in Bay 20, a separate theatre area within Carriageworks, Yore installation of ‘enormous penises and dildos was not appropriate’, said fair owner Tim Etchells.
