Not your usual cabaret suspects

Kate Ceberano’s final festival as Artistic Director explores the ever-evolving form of cabaret.

The 14th annual Adelaide Cabaret Festival program features an impressive range of talents and performances over 16 days and nights, taking in everything from the songs of Elvis Presley and Sixties vocal group The Crystals, to Australian convict stories in Vandemonian Lags. The cream of international cabaret is represented, with the likes of Robert Davi on the bill, alongside Australian stars including Anthony Warlow, Paul Capsis, Kylie Auldist, and Yana Alana.

Richard Watts is ArtsHub's National Performing Arts Editor; he also presents the weekly program SmartArts on Three Triple R FM, and serves as the Chair of La Mama Theatre's volunteer Committee of Management.
