Darwin-born Melissa Chiu, 42, has become one of the most powerful women in the Am-Asian art scene, as Director of the Asia Society Museum in New York for the past ten years, and Senior Vice President for Global Arts and Cultural Programs for the Society’s 11 centres and affiliates in the United States and Asia.
