Crowd control failures marred the spectacular success of Vivid Sydney, with  New Year’s Eve level policing needed.

The ‘Festival of Light and Ideas’ concluded  last weekend with massive crowds flooding Circular Quay to see 60 installations, including the dramatic lighting of the Opera House sails. The opening weekend had drawn more than 100,000 people and the Queen’s Birthday crowd was estimated to be even larger.
