A rat among the ranks at MONA

2012 recipient of the MONA Scholarship, Pip Stafford, is turning MONA’s library into A Rat’s Nest.

However, this is not a cash handout. Recipients of the scholarship are required to use the money to by materials and equipment to realise an exhibition. Speaking with 2012 winner Pip Stafford, whose immersive installation A Rat’s Nest opens this week in the MONA Gallery Library, she said of the scholarship, ‘It has meant that I was able to really play and experiment with materials, [and] that I didn’t have to pick the cheapest option and make it work!’
