A new take: Arnhem Land barks at the Potter

A first reveal of quirky 'intercultural' barks in new exhibition at the Ian Potter Museum of Art.

Collected between 1935 and 1950 by renowned anthropologist Professor Donald Thomson and ethnologist Dr Leonhard Adam, this cache of barks – many to be shown for the first time – come from the Central and Eastern Arnhem Land area, including Caledon Bay and Groote Eylandt.
