Covid taught us one thing – to value the intimate, in-person art experience. It is not surprising then that this has stuck (even when so many Covid lessons haven’t).
Since that pesky pandemic, we have seen a bubbling up of house concerts – those ticketed performances held in people’s lounge rooms, backyards and private homes.
Gina Fairley is ArtsHub's Senior Contributor, after 12 years in the role as National Visual Arts Editor. She has worked for extended periods in America and Southeast Asia, as gallerist, arts administrator and regional contributing editor for a number of magazines, including Hong Kong based Asian Art News and World Sculpture News.
