Melbourne Theatre Company

Head of Partnerships & Engagement

Seeking a commercially minded Head of Partnerships & Engagement to drive partnership, membership, audience and community growth.

Melbourne Theatre Company creates and presents stories that entertain, challenge, and move people – stories that reflect the full complexity of who we are as a country and spark genuine conversation about the world we live in.

We champion new Australian writing, bring the best international work to Melbourne, and believe the most exciting theatre is being made right now. Whether it’s a work that has something to say, a beloved story retold, or a joyous night out – you’ll find it here.

We’re expanding what Australian theatre looks like.

We’re seeking an experienced and commercially minded Head of  Partnerships & Engagement to lead the development and execution of the Company’s partnerships, membership, audience and community engagement strategies.

Reporting to the Chief Growth Officer, this leadership role is responsible for driving revenue growth through strategic and commercial partnerships, strengthening audience and stakeholder engagement, and delivering initiatives that expand MTC’s reach, deepen participation, and contribute to the Company’s long-term growth and financial sustainability.

The successful candidate will have experience driving sales and engagement across partners, members, audiences and communities, including the evolution of membership programs, and delivering initiatives that expand participation and strengthen organisational impact.

A collaborative and commercially astute leader, you will have proven success leading high-performing teams and delivering integrated revenue and engagement outcomes across multiple audience streams, preferably in a live entertainment context. You will build strong stakeholder relationships and operate effectively across functions to achieve shared objectives.

If you enjoy working in a creative environment and want to be part of our vision to be recognised as one of the world’s preeminent theatre companies, we welcome your application.
