Melbourne Theatre Company

Partnerships & Engagement Manager

We're seeking a proactive, relationship-driven Partnerships & Engagement Manager to support partnership, membership, audience and community growth.

Melbourne Theatre Company creates and presents stories that entertain, challenge, and move people – stories that reflect the full complexity of who we are as a country and spark genuine conversation about the world we live in.

We champion new Australian writing, bring the best international work to Melbourne, and believe the most exciting theatre is being made right now. Whether it’s a work that has something to say, a beloved story retold, or a joyous night out – you’ll find it here.

We’re expanding what Australian theatre looks like.

We’re seeking a proactive and relationship-driven Partnerships & Engagement Manager to support the delivery of the Company’s partnerships, membership, community and audience engagement strategies.

Reporting to the Head of Partnerships and Engagement, this role is responsible for executing initiatives that strengthen partner relationships, deepen audience and community connection, and contribute to engagement and revenue outcomes. Working collaboratively across the company, you will play a key role in activating partnerships, growing retention, and delivering meaningful experiences and amplify the impact of MTC’s work.

The successful candidate will bring experience in managing partnerships and/or engagement programs, with a strong focus on delivering value, building lasting relationships, and driving participation across stakeholders, audiences and communities. You will be highly organised and outcomes-focused, with the ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders while ensuring high-quality delivery.

A collaborative and commercially aware team member, you will work with colleagues across the company to lead the execution of partnership activations across physical and digital channels, support the delivery of campaigns and initiatives, and contribute to audience and community engagement programs. A passion for live experiences, and an understanding of their role in cultural and community life, will be highly regarded.

If you enjoy working in a creative environment and want to contribute to our vision to be recognised as one of the world’s preeminent theatre companies, we welcome your application.
