After a prolonged battle with cancer, photographer Polixeni Papapetrou has died at 57.

Melbourne photographer and artist Polixeni Papapetrou died last week (11 April) aged 57.

Papapetrou had fought a long battle with breast cancer, which was first diagnosed in 2007. After a period of remission, it returned in 2012. Her survival for a further five years is testament to Papapetrou’s determination and spirit.
