The 2027 Burwood Art Prize call for submissions are now open, closing Sunday 7 February, 2027.
The Burwood Art Prize is open to Sydney-based (including Greater Sydney) artists aged 16 years and over. Artists must be Australian citizens or permanent residents to be eligible to apply and may only submit one artwork only.
Theme: I Am Here, celebrating cultural narratives and perspectives. The theme invites artists to consider ideas of presence, identity and place in their work. It acknowledges the role of cultural identity, lived experience and community in contemporary multicultural Australia and will guide the selection and presentation of works in the 2027 Burwood Art Prize exhibition.
Awards include the $20,000 acquisitive Burwood Art Prize (open to all eligible artists) ; $2,500 Burwood Local Prize (Burwood LGA residents only); and the $2,500 Burwood Youth Prize (open to all sydney artists aged 16-20 only).
