Western Australian artists, Olga Cironis, Paula Hart and Denise Brown, worked with young children suffering with poor health to create a series of sculptures that will be exhibited during Telethon – a live 26 hour appeal held at Perth Convention Exhibition Centre televised on Channel 7 Perth during October 19-20. The WA artists were commissioned by the Perth Public Art Foundation (PPAF) to create these works, which will also be publicly auctioned at the Lexus Ball with all money raised to go towards Telethon.

‘This initiative is providing children with the chance to express their imagination through art and is a fantastic way to give them a much needed escape. These children have experienced so much in their young lives, and their involvement through informing these artworks is an inspiration to the rest of us … This initiative has given the kids the chance to relax and have some fun, while developing their self-esteem, encouraging social skills and problem solving through an enjoyable creative process,’ said Foundation Patron Lord Mayor, Lisa Scaffidi.
