Ticket trader aims to stop the scalpers

A secondary market for event tickets paints itself as a white knight for the half a million buyers it says are scammed each year.

 You can buy online on a promise from a stranger and risk the tickets failing to arrive in time or you can hope to pick up a ticket on the street and pay the premium that has earned scalpers their name.

 A survey conducted  by Galaxy Research for ticket marketplace Viagogo calculates half a million Australians have been scammed when purchasing event tickets in the past 12 months, with tickets never arriving or being for the wrong seat.
