Tasmanian Literary Awards Winners Announced

Excellence recognized in established and emerging talent as winners of the Tasmanian Literary Awards are announced.

The winners for the biennial Tasmanian Literary Awards have been announced.

1835: the Founding of Melbourne and the Conquest of Australia by James Boyce won the prestigious Tasmanian Book Prize of  $25,000 for the best book with Tasmanian content in any genre. This book also won the 2012 Age Book of the Year Award and was shortlisted for the Prime Minister’s Literary Awards. A previous recipient of the prize, Boyce was awarded the same honour in 2009 for his work, Van Diemen’s Land.
