Strong results for Sotheby’s Art and Design auction

Sotheby’s Fine Asian, Australian and European Art and Design brought in impressive results this week.

The auction, including buyer’s premium, reached a total of $2.3 million or 73% by volume and 134% by value. The sale’s most high profile item, the historial Te Pahi Medal went for $366,000, within its estimate of $300,000-500,000. A rare ‘famille-rose’ figure of Amitayus went for well above its $10,000 – 15,000 estimate, going for a whopping $225,700.
