Sidney Myer Performing Arts Awards announced

The Sidney Myer Fund has announced the winners of the Sidney Myer Performing Arts Awards, which pay tribute to excellence in performing arts.

Musician and composer, Iain Grandage has won the individual prize ($50,00) for the Sidney Myer Performing Arts Awards. Other winners include, leading Indigenous theatre company, Ilbijerri, for the Group Prize ($80,00) and Phillip Rolfe took out the the Facilitators Prize ($20,000) for his career as a producer, festival director, bureaucrat and cultural industry leader. 

The Sidney Myer Performing Arts Awards were established in 1984 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Sidney Myers’ death and continue to pay tribute to his appreciation for life and the arts. The awards acknowledge excellence in drama, comedy, dance, music, opera, circus and puppetry throughout Australia.
