The theme for the 2013 SheppARTon Festival is Emerging Voices, and that is exactly what the program promises. For the first time, the SheppARTon Festival coincides with the Emerge on Goulburn Festival presented by Multicultural Arts Victoria, which presents an exciting opportunity for collaboration and celebration across the unique community of Greater Shepparton. The Festival runs from Friday 1-Monday 11 March, with the Emerge on Goulburn Festival continuing until 13 March.

The Festival in 2013 boasts a rich Indigenous program, celebrating its strong Indigenous population. The SheppARTon Festival theme image is based on the long-necked turtle, a totem of the Yorta Yorta Aboriginal Nation, and a creature of perseverance that carries its home wherever it goes. This themes celebrates the Aboriginal history of the region, as well as the long history of immigration. The festival showcases the myriad cultures and histories of the people who call Shepparton home.
