Award-winning Australian composer Nigel Westlake was grief stricken after the murder of his son Eli and thought he’d never write another piece of music again. Now, one year later, he has composed an exquisite requiem in honour of his son.

As reported by The 7.30 Report’s Rebecca Baillie last night, Westlake said, “If there’s one more piece of music left in me, it has to be a musical dedication to Eli. After 12 months, I opened the studio door, having not been in there at all, and on the table lay the score of Missa Solace.”
