Following the recent Review of the Australia Council and the conclusion of James Strong’s tenure as Chair of Australia’s principal arts funding body on June 30th, Rupert Myer has been announced as the new Chair of the Australia Council.
Arts Minister Simon Crean announced Myer’s appointment as well as that of Robyn Archer as new Deputy Chair over the weekend.
“Appointing Mr Myer as needed to lead the Australia Chair will provide the Council with the leadership, governance and management expertise Council as it works through the reforms recommended by the Review,” Mr Crean said in a statement.
