Tasmania isn’t letting the dust settle after Ten Days on the Island before launching into another festival. Nayri Niara, a three-day Indigenous Music, Arts and Culture festival will inhabit Tasmania’s pristine Bruny Island at the beginning of April.

The festival was born simply, gaining life after a discussion between artistic director Ruth Langford, acclaimed musician Xavier Rudd and filmmaker/photographer Nikki Michail. That conversation, Langford tells us, ‘was about the power of bringing people together through festival gatherings.’ Those people the festival aims to bring together are Indigenous and non-Indigenous people, young and old, families and singles.
