Returning for the third time to take part in the Melbourne International Arts Festival, renowned choreographer Hofesh Shechter will be lighting up the stage once more with the world premiere of his latest mystery show.
A truly multi-talented individual, Shechter is known not only for his outstanding choreography, but also for his musical compositions which accompany all his dance pieces. Despite his resounding success, his journey to become one of the most acclaimed choreographers certainly isn’t a straightforward one. Starting out as a drummer in a rock band, Shechter eventually joined the Batsheva Dance Company in Tel Aviv, where he began to experiment with drums and percussion.
