First Nations-led design concept for Australia’s newest Aboriginal gallery
Concept design revealed for Adelaide’s Aboriginal Art and Cultures Centre, created by architects Woods Bagot in consultation with Aboriginal leaders, and slated to open in 2025.

In a statement jointly released this week (2 February) by the Federal Arts Minister the Hon Paul Fletcher and South Australian Premier the Hon Steven Marshall, the concept design for the Adelaide’s Aboriginal Art and Cultures Centre (AACC) were revealed.
The gallery will be built at Lot Fourteen, the former Royal Adelaide Hospital site along North Terrace, and is originally slated for the Adelaide Contemporary extension project.
