On 9 October 2007, Marou Awanis, a 49-year old mother of three, and her passenger Genevia Jalal, 30 were shot dead on a busy Baghdad street as their car allegedly ‘failed to stop’. Behind the trigger were private security contractors from the Australian company Unity Resources Group (URG).
