Ever dreamt of snapping international bands as an official festival photographer? What about scoring an exclusive backstage hip-hop songwriting workshop? Or picking the brain of design legends over dinner? Creative folk in regional Australia have a swag of golden opportunities at their fingertips this month, depending on their areas of interest.

Roving music festival Groovin’ the Moo rolls into town at the end of April, hitting five cities: Maitland, Canberra, Bendigo, Townsville and Bunbury. Twenty-six international and Australian bands form the core acts at GTM, but each event is customised by the appearance of local acts who won the triple j unearthed competition as well as a handful of specially hand-picked local artists. While the festival has sold out for Maitland and Bendigo, tickets are still on sale for the other three sites.
