Kandos is a small town in rural NSW between the mining town of Lithgow and the wine regions of Mudgee. The town was founded around 100 years ago, ‘to house the work force of the Kandos Cement Works,’ explained Cementa’s website. Cement from Kandos was used in the building of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and much of the burgeoning city, however, in 2012 the works closed.
