A festival featuring projections with an emphasis on enlightenment wouldn’t be complete without the granddaddy of projections itself – film. With a series of art pieces, award-winning shorts and historical motion pictures, Canberra will be a cinema-lovers paradise this March.

Poetry and celluloid meet in Poetry on Film – Harry Hotton, a film inspired by the philosophy of rogue poet Harry Hooton (1908 – 1961), who was a key influencer of the Sydney Push, the predominantly left-wing intellectual subculture that thrived in the Harbour City from the 1940s to 70s. The soundtrack to the film brings the voice of the poet back to life, drawing from tape recordings made prior to his demise.
