Australian ‘super-musician’ takes home Grammy glory

A ‘new breed of super-musicians’ has claimed Grammy fame in 2013, with Brisbane Flautist Tim Munro and his Eighth Blackbird ensemble winning the category of Best Chamber Music/Small Ensemble Performance at this year’s awards. Adding to the success of Australian musician Gotye, who won three Grammys this year, Munro’s six-piece, Chicago-based ensemble Eighth Blackbird received critical acclaim for its performance of the piece ‘Meanwhile’.
