Australian architects sought for NGV Contemporary design competition

Envisioned as the largest contemporary art and design gallery in the country, the design competition for NGV Contemporary is only open to Australian architectural teams.

The Andrews Labor Government and the National Gallery of Victoria today launched a competition to select an Australian architectural team to design the new purpose-built gallery, NGV Contemporary.

NGV Contemporary will be dedicated to showcasing contemporary art, design, fashion and architecture of local, national and international significance. Once completed, it will span 30,000 square metres, making it Australia’s largest public gallery of contemporary art and design.
