The arts community has reacted to the launch of the National Cultural Policy, Creative Australia, with tentative hope today.

Those that received a slice of the $235 million boost to the sector were obviously grateful for the cash injections, while those that didn’t benefit directly were left wondering where their piece of the pie was.  

One of the big winners was Bangarra Dance Theatre, who received $613,000 as part of $9.3 million worth of new funding shared between Sydney’s Belvior St Theatre, Perth’s Black Swan State Theatre, the West Australian Ballet and Victoria’s Malthouse Theatre and Circus Oz.
