Ambassadors for a Cultural Discussion

To help get the word out for its Creative City Cultural Policy Discussion Paper, the City of Sydney has enlisted to some of the key cultural players.

To help get the word out for its Creative City Cultural Policy Discussion Paper, the City of Sydney has enlisted to some of the key cultural players. One ambassador for the project is director Neil Armfield, who has been a shining light in the theatre scene for decades at the Belvoir St Theatre and Company B.

Armfield recalled growing up in Sydney, with its old theatres and laneways teeming with life, and how much of the centre of Sydney was turned into what he called ‘a wasteland’ in the 1970s and 80s.
