Jo Duffy’s still in her car. The last time that we spoke to her – two years ago – she was basking in the air-conditioned comfort, answering questions from the balmy Northern Territory capital. It was August 2011, the middle of Darwin’s dry season, where she’d served as Director of the Darwin Festival for three years.
Now she’s getting out of her car in the Huon Valley, 35 minutes from Hobart, having swapped the tropics of the top end for the seasonal melange of Tasmania, where she’s now stationed as Artistic Director of the state’s international arts festival, Ten Days on the Island.
