Strategic Lead of Programming

Darebin Council is looking for a Strategic Lead of Programming who will drive the creation of bold, contemporary performing arts programs.

The Strategic Lead of Programming will lead and inspire the Programming team, cultivating innovative work practices and strong creative partnerships. They shape artistic direction, champion artist development, and forge community and industry connections. They steer forward planning, budgets, and service delivery to ensure impactful, high‑quality programming. As a key member of the precinct’s leadership team, they help advance the unit’s strategic and collaborative goals.

You will:

• Shape and deliver arts programs that champion independent artists and spark community participation.

• Guide a creative team with clarity and purpose.
• Build strong relationships across the arts sector to grow opportunities, partnerships and visibility.
• Steer budgets, contracts and financial processes.
• Drive clear, engaging communication that connects artists, audiences and the wider community.
