Mornington Peninsula Shire (Arts & Culture)

Arts and Culture Engagement Lead

Mornington Peninsula Shire is looking for an energetic, creative connector to help shape the cultural life of one of Victoria's most vibrant regions.

About Mornington Peninsula Shire

Mornington Peninsula Shire is Victoria’s destination municipality — home to unique townships, productive agriculture, world-renowned landscapes and areas of national conservation significance within a vital Green Wedge. With around 1,000 employees, the Shire is a busy, values-driven workplace where 85% of staff say it’s a great place to work. Flexible and hybrid working, career development, and a supportive, inclusive culture are all part of the offer.

About the Role

Sitting within the Economic and Cultural Development Unit, this role provides dedicated coordination support for the promotion of Arts and Culture programs, exhibitions and events. It’s a central liaison role — connecting Arts and Culture, Mornington Peninsula Regional Gallery (MPRG), and the Communications and Marketing Business Partner — coordinating content, assets, stakeholder relationships, timelines and delivery requirements.

Day to day, this could mean coordinating content and creative assets, supporting digital engagement and social media, managing publications and promotional materials, and maintaining project records and post-event reporting.

Selection Criteria

  • Tertiary qualification in arts administration, cultural management, communications, marketing, public relations, events or a related discipline, and/or demonstrated experience coordinating cultural, creative, community or public-facing programs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including content development, correspondence and project documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships with artists, creatives, partners, suppliers and internal stakeholders, underpinned by an understanding of the arts and cultural sector.
  • Experience coordinating multiple projects, timelines and competing priorities with strong organisation and attention to detail.
  • Experience managing digital content, records, contracts and administrative processes to support program delivery.

Job Requirements

  • National Police Record Check
  • Working with Children Check
  • Driver’s Licence
  • Valid Australian work rights
