Now the subject area coordinator at Pimpama State Secondary College, Adam Jefford was the fourth teacher to be the Queensland-Smithsonian (Cooper Hewitt) Design Museum Fellow over the northern summer of 2012. The program provides for Queensland school teachers to travel to New York to work with the museum’s education department. Jefford was awarded the fellowship last year while teaching Visual Arts at Windaroo Valley High School, but now carries that fresh experience with him to Queensland’s newest school, which opened in its first stage at the start of the year with just shy of 300 students in Years 7 and 8.
