Maggie Maguire, the first CEO of the Abbotsford Convent Foundation (ACF), is stepping down after 10 years.
Maguire’s most recent achievement was to secure funding from the Federal Government to renovate the Sacred Heart building. This money matched $2 million donated by the Dara Foundation.
Maguire also led the campaign to have the Convent listed on the National Heritage Register, subject to formal processes over the next two years. She has also begun promising processes to secure the renovation of the Laundries and Industrial School.
‘Maggie is leaving after having set in place the means to activate all the remaining buildings on the site. This is an astonishing achievement,’ Marles said.
