Think everything slows to a standstill during Darwin’s wet season? Okay, maybe a little, but while the rain gets torrential between November and April, Territorians aren’t all cooped up inside. They’re out there, enjoying cultural activities like performances at the Darwin Entertainment Centre, browsing art galleries and partaking in community workshops at Darwin Community Arts.
‘Generally, people aren’t kept in doors,’ says Brooke Lenon from Darwin’s Mbantua Fine Art Gallery and Cultural Museum. ‘If they’re locals they’re used to it.’
