One door closes, another opens in Budget controversy

Submissions for the guidelines governing the controversial National Program for Excellence in the Arts (NPEA) announced in the Budget close on the 31st July but the Senate Inquiry is heating up.

With more than 2,000 submissions flooding the Senate Inquiry into changes to arts funding, there is no question the public has a lot to say about the existence of the National Program for Excellence in the Arts (NPEA).

But while the Senate Committee considers whether the NPEA should exist – and the implications of taking $105 million from the Australia Council to fund it – there is a small window for people wishing to have some input on the ​guidelines for the way the NPEA will operate
