With the decimation of the Labor government in the Queensland elections over the weekend many people in the arts may be wondering what will happen to the sector over the next few years.

The composition of Campbell Newman’s cabinet is as yet unknown but it may be that current Shadow Minister for the Arts, Scott Emerson will take on the portfolio. Rachel Nolan, the Bligh government’s Minister for the Finance, Natural Resources and the Arts lost her seat of Ipswich with a 20.9% swing against her.
