Traps for young writers

It's easy to be flattered when someone likes your work but bad contracts can leave you trapped in a dead-end.

Young writers are being bamboozled to sign option deals for long periods of time or trapped into reversion clauses where they end up paying a producer`s expenses.

The Australian Writers Guild (AWG) has warned writers not to sign short form agreements until they get direct advice from the Guild – indeed, they probably shouldn`t sign short form agreements at all.
