The curious case of the invisible drones

Artist James Bridle believes Arts Queensland's decision to block his work was political censorship.

This would have been the fifth incarnation of Bridle’s ‘Drone Shadows’, which have already been created in London, Istanbul, Brighton and Washington DC –  which show outlines of military drones drawn onto the ground.

Bridle intended to draw an outline of a Global Hawk, the largest UAV currently operating.  A temporary work using tape was proposed instead of a drawing, in order to prevent damage to the site.
