The worlds of art and fashion rub shoulders regularly; we only need to look at fashionista Alexander McQueen’s retrospective presented by the Metropolitan Museum in New York (2011) to know that inspiration can be a two-way street.

Closer to home we have examples such as Melbourne label Scanlan & Theodore, who recruited New York art photographer Nan Goldin to shoot its 2010 spring-summer campaign, and Sydney cashmere label Banjo & Matilda’s range of cardigans inspired by the works of British artist Tracey Emin.
