Bat Eyes, a film written by Jessica Bellamy – an emerging playwright with the Australian Theatre for Young People, has reached the finals of the inaugural Your Film Festival.

Based on Bellamy’s original monologue and directed by Damien Power, Bat Eyes has been selected as one of the top 10 out of 15,000 international submissions to the Your Film Festival. It will now be screened in September at the 69th Venice International Film Festival in front of a panel of judges that includes Ridley Scott (Alien, Gladiator) and Michael Fassbender (Shame, Prometheus). The selected winner will be awarded a $500,000 production deal with Scott’s production company, Scott Free, and the chance to work with both Scott and Fassbender.
