Open, establish, evict: Sydney theatre sector in flux

From Parramatta to Annandale and Kings Cross, Sydney’s theatre ecology is undergoing change - positive and negative.

The protean nature of the Sydney theatre landscape has been ably demonstrated this week with the opening of a new 75 – 90 seat independent theatre in Kings Cross and the launch of a new theatre company, the National Theatre of Parramatta.

But as new players make their mark on the city’s arts ecology, others face loss: another theatre company faces eviction from the premises it has occupied for the past three years.
