Federal Arts Minister Simon Crean has announced a total of $90,512 for nine projects in rural and regional Victoria in the latest round of Regional Arts Funds. Two projects in Castlemaine and single projects in Horsham, Warrenmang, Drouin, Trentham, Balmoral, Shepparton and Lakes Entrance were the successful recipients.

The two Castlemaine projects to be funded are Cultivated: The Grove by the Castlemaine State Festival, and The Wandering Cloud by performance poet Klare Lanson. For The Wandering Cloud, Lanson will collaborate with people who were flood affected to create a poetic sound map for a participatory performance. The Castlemaine State Festival will combine theatre and visual arts by drawing on regional artists, horticulturalists, and groups from the community and food industry to create Cultivated: The Grove for the 2013 Castlemaine State Festival.
