Theatre publicist Suzie Howie passed away last week, prompting a response from many in the industry locally and internationally that ‘a great friend has left the theatre’. Howie had publicised over 600 shows in her long career, and passed away on the eve of the opening night of her last show, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to The Forum.

Howie had been sick for many years, but she remained passionate and dedicated to her work despite her illness. Even after battling cancer for seven years and being placed into palliative care at Kyneton District Hospital, she was still working tirelessly, stopped only when her husband confiscated her phone and laptop.
